A $249 Agent and a $99 Agent Owe Oregon the Same Address

A clean Oregon registered agent setup for $99 per year. You get the office address on file, scanned legal mail, and compliance reminders ahead of state deadlines.

Oregon business district

Who is talking: OR Registered Agent.org, an Oregon registered agent service priced at $99 a year. You are reading a competitor's page and should discount the adjectives accordingly. Every LegalZoom figure below is LegalZoom's, recorded off their public pricing in July 2026, and we have no interest in misquoting a number you can go check.

The Recognition Is Worth Something

Almost everyone shopping in this category knows the LegalZoom name, and that kind of recognition is easy to sneer at and very hard to build. They have been operating at scale for two decades, support is staffed rather than improvised, and if a business partner or a lender ever asks who handles your filings, the answer requires no explanation. Some owners want exactly that and are right to want it.

$249 a Year, Renewing Without a Conversation

The Oregon agent seat costs $249 annually, it renews on its own, and our July 2026 sweep turned up no introductory rate anywhere: year one costs what year five costs. Nothing about that is hidden. It is simply the highest flat annual price among the national providers we track for this state, and it recurs for as long as your company is registered here.

Here is the part worth sitting with. Oregon does not grade registered agents by brand, headcount or budget. It grades them by address, and it does so in unusually plain language.

Your registered office must sit at a real street address inside Oregon, one where a server can walk up and place documents directly in the agent's hand. Then the statute goes further than most states bother to go. Three specific business models are named and ruled out as registered offices: a virtual office, a mail forwarding business, a commercial mail receiving agency. Not disfavored. Not subject to review. Disqualified by name in ORS 63.111.

Eligibility for the job itself is a short list too. An Oregon resident can hold it as an individual. So can a business entity: a corporation, an LLC, a professional corporation or a nonprofit, formed in Oregon or authorized to operate here. In every case the state wants that agent's place of business to sit at the very address your filing names as the registered office, which is a quiet way of saying the agent has to actually work where the paperwork claims.

So the legal duty a $249 provider owes you is the duty a $99 provider owes you, word for word. A real Oregon location, a person there through business hours, and prompt delivery of whatever gets served. The invoice is the only variable.

The $99 Column

Our address is a staffed Oregon office, which is the boring answer to the address question and the only answer the statute accepts. Whatever a process server leaves there is imaged and sitting in your portal before the day is out, with an email following it, so nothing depends on you remembering to sign in. Your renewal reminder is keyed to your own formation anniversary. Checkout has one product on it, so nobody is walking you up a ladder of packages. And the price is $99 in year one and $99 in year eleven.

For accuracy: a shopper hunting purely for the lowest sticker will find BetterLegal at $90 and ought to go look. Our $99 sits near the bottom of the published Oregon range rather than at the very bottom of it.

Plain subtraction on the recurring figures: $249 against $99 is $150 a year, which is $1,500 across a decade of a company that outlives its first landlord.

Where an Oregon LegalZoom Switch Actually Gets Filed

With the Secretary of State's Corporation Division, on the filing Oregon calls an Information Change. It costs nothing, it carries a revision date instead of a form number, and it travels by mail, by fax, or straight through the Oregon Business Registry with no paper involved. You supply the entity details, the incoming agent's name, and a qualifying Oregon street address, and the new agent signs off on the appointment right on the form.

Sequence matters more than speed. Your record is supposed to name a live agent continuously, so the order is: enroll with us, file the change, watch the registry until our name is the one showing, and only then let the LegalZoom subscription lapse. Doing it the other way around buys you an unnecessary gap and saves nothing. The step-by-step version lives on our change of agent page, and the whole Oregon price field is laid out in our rankings.
