Oregon's Only Question About Your New Agent: Did They Agree?

A clean Oregon registered agent setup for $99 per year. You get the office address on file, scanned legal mail, and compliance reminders ahead of state deadlines.

Read this knowing it was written by a rival. OR Registered Agent.org supplies Oregon registered agent service for $99 annually and would be glad to take over the appointment Rocket Lawyer currently holds. The Rocket Lawyer numbers used here are theirs, pulled from published pricing in July 2026 and reproduced straight.

Give Them Credit: the Price Does Not Move

Rocket Lawyer prices its registered agent service at $125 for a year, and the tier you sit on does not move that number. No introductory rate, no loyalty discount, no different figure for people who arrived through a different funnel. In a market where what gets advertised and what finally lands on the card often diverge, a rate that holds still at every level deserves saying out loud.

The platform underneath it is substantial too. Document templates, e-signature, attorney consultations, a library of business forms. For an owner who genuinely uses those tools, $125 buys far more than an address.

The Catch Is Scope, Not Honesty

That is exactly the question, though: are you using them?

Rocket Lawyer is a legal subscription business, and agent service is one item on a large shelf. Nothing wrong with the shelf. But if your entire requirement is that Oregon has somewhere to send a lawsuit, you are renting a store to buy one thing from it. The $125 is fair value for the platform and expensive value for a single line on a state record.

What Oregon Is Actually Asking You For

The state's version of this transaction is smaller than any subscription page suggests.

Oregon wants a named agent on your record, continuously, at a physical Oregon street address where a process server can hand documents to a person during business hours. That is the substance of it. The role can be held by an individual who lives in Oregon or by a qualifying business entity, and either way the office where that agent conducts business has to be the same address your record lists as the registered office.

And when you change who holds that role, Oregon has essentially one thing it wants to know. Not whether you shopped around. Not whether you had a reason. There is a checkbox on the change form where the incoming agent confirms they consented to the appointment, and satisfying that box is close to the whole of the state's interest in the matter. Oregon is not policing your choice of vendor. It is confirming that the party about to start receiving your lawsuits knows the job is theirs.

The Narrow Product, Priced

  • An Oregon office with people in it, named as your registered office so your own address stays off the record
  • Whatever is served on us goes into your portal as a scan that same business day, with an email alert
  • Renewal alerts built on your formation anniversary, since Oregon works from the date rather than the month
  • One product at checkout, so there is no upgrade path to decline
  • $15 per item for general mail we scan and forward, disclosed here in advance
  • $99 a year, unchanged at every renewal

$99 is among the lower published annual rates for Oregon, not the single lowest. BetterLegal's $90 holds that spot, and we would rather you got that from us. On the recurring numbers, $125 against $99 is $26 a year, which is small; the bigger question is whether the platform behind the $125 is one you open.

Rocket Lawyer Out, Us In, With No Gap on the Oregon Record

Oregon calls the filing an Information Change (Corporation/Limited Liability Company). It has no form number, only a revision date, because the Corporation Division numbers none of its business forms. You can post it, fax it, or file the equivalent Information Change inside the Oregon Business Registry without touching paper. The Secretary of State charges $0.00 for it, which is a permanent line on the fee schedule rather than a promotion.

The form itself is undemanding. It wants the business name, the Oregon registry number, the party taking over, and a registered office at an Oregon street address that doubles as that party's business office. Then the consent box gets ticked.

That checkbox is also why the handoff has no gap in it. Consent from the incoming agent and removal of the outgoing one happen on the same page of the same filing, in one motion, so there is never a moment when your entity has nobody in the role. You cannot accidentally leave the line blank because the form does not offer blank as an option. What you can do is cancel too early, so keep the Rocket Lawyer membership running until you have seen our name in the state's business registry search, then cancel.

Practically: you enroll, we complete the Information Change with our Oregon details, we submit it to the Corporation Division, and you check the public record a few business days later. Our change of agent page covers the whole thing in more depth.

Open your Rocket Lawyer account and look at the last twelve months. If you used the documents, the templates and the attorney access, keep paying for them, because we do not sell any of that. If the only thing you have ever used it for is holding an Oregon address, then you already know what the $125 is buying.
